HOLDENVILLE, OK — May 6, 2025

After a day of steady downpours, parts of Holdenville are now dealing with some severe flooding. The area has been hit hard by heavy rainfall, with more expected over the next two days. With the ground already saturated and local creeks and lakes filled to capacity, the risk of additional flooding remains high.

Several parts of town have been impacted, including the area near the old motel down Echo. Overflowing creeks have spilled onto roads, making travel difficult or even impossible in some places. Law enforcement and emergency management officials are urging residents to avoid driving through flooded roadways and to stay alert to changing weather conditions.

Photos submitted to Holdenville Briefs show overflowing drainage ditches, water-covered roads, and backyards turning into ponds. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware and check local alerts frequently. With more rain in the forecast and water levels already high, the next 48 hours could bring additional challenges for the community.
