AIM Norman Master Plan Nears Final Approval
Norman’s Area & Infrastructure Master Plan—known as AIM Norman—is nearing the final stages of approval. In a recent Norman Transcript article, Steering Committee Co-Chairs Shavonne Evans and Inger Giuffrida reflected on the planning process and community collaboration that brought the initiative to life.
“AIM Norman is a living document, designed to adapt and grow with the needs of our city,” they noted. “It represents a true collaboration—built on compromise, consensus, and broad community engagement.”
The 14-member Steering Committee, made up of residents from every city ward, worked closely with city staff and subject matter experts over the past 18 months. Together, they gathered public input and shaped a comprehensive strategy to guide Norman’s growth and infrastructure. Citizen-led subcommittees, composed of volunteers with diverse perspectives and expertise, also played a vital role in shaping the plan.
